The house
Sagheerah began around 2016, in a house in Birmingham, because the jilbabs we wanted for our daughters were not being made. So they were made at home, one at a time, and then they were made for their friends, and then for their mothers. The company came later, in 2022.
We make few pieces and we make them properly. A garment that is worn twice a week for six years is a different object from one bought for a season, and it has to be cut like one.
Every piece is made in Birmingham. Where we can tell you exactly what a cloth is and where it came from, we will; where we cannot yet, we say so rather than reach for a word that sounds better than it means.
Cut as if it has to last six years, not six months.
