Two things decide your size: how tall you are, and your build.
Start with your height
Measure without shoes, standing against a wall. Find your height in the table below and read across to your build.
Then your build
Build is not one measurement — nobody is only wide at the bust or only at the hip — so we use the dress size you already wear, which accounts for all of it at once.
- Small build — UK 8–12
- One size down from your height.
- Medium build — UK 14–18
- The size your height gives.
- Large build — UK 20+
- One size up from your height.

The price shown is for the middle size in that row. If your build takes you up or down a size, find that size on its own row to see what it costs. Sizes are not measurements — a 54 is a size, not fifty-four inches.
If she is between sizes, or still growing
Every skirt is cut with a two-inch hem turned up inside it. Let it down and you have the next size — a 40 becomes a 42. That is how the Kanadian has always been made.
If you fall outside it
We cut sizes 36 to 60 and nothing beyond either end. If the table sends you off it, write to us before you order and we will tell you what we can do.
